Cal North is now taking applications to Host the New US Soccer Grassroots Coaching Education Formats

US Soccer has released the new Blended formats for the Grassroots 4v4, 7v7, 9v9, 11v11 and D Course, and will soon release the new Virtual format. The Blended In-Person format will consist of 2 hours online guided instruction with a US Soccer licensed instructor.

Beginning this season US Youth Soccer's recently restructured National League will now feature the National League Series and National League Playoffs. Applications for the National League Showcase events are now being accepted. These events are for the very top level teams across the nation and over the years some of Cal North’s elite level teams have participated in the National League.

The USYS National League has been split into three sections of competitions with 13 regional conferences.

On August 3rd, The California Department of Public Health released COVID-19 Interim Guidance for Youth Sports to address youth sports statewide. The document provides pertinent information for all youth sports programs to support a safe environment. 

This month's theme takes focus on attacking runs. It will be available through the month of August exclusively to Cal North members at no cost.

In our ongoing and continued effort to bring you valuable content, we've partnered with SportsLab360 to bring you a new player development module each month. SportsLab360 provides an accessible, practical, organized, and easy to-use program that is focused entirely on tactical development. 

The first ever Cal North hosted Keeper Wars Ink event will take place over Labor Day weekend at Morgan Hill Sports Complex, and will bring keepers from across the Northern California soccer community and the surrounding regions together to compete for a chance to advance into the Keeper Wars 2021 National Championship.

New strategic partnership delivers the latest player evaluation technology to Cal North’s Olympic Development Program and network of 132 member clubs.

Pleasanton, CA (June 17, 2020) – Cal North Chairman, Larry Svetich is pleased to announce that Cal North has partnered with TeamGenius, the leading athlete evaluation app for tryouts, feedback, and player development.

Cal North lifted the suspension of play that has been in place due to the COVID-19 virus and pandemic.  The final decision to get back on the field has been returned to local leagues and clubs in every district, county, and city.  The decisions leagues and clubs make to return to play must abide by and be done in conjunction with directives established by the State of California and local county health directors and departments.  Cal North has prepared a number of recommended guidelines to aid leagues and clubs in developing their own unique return to play protocols.
