Try-Outs for State ODP pools are by Recommendation for New players, in the 2012, 2011, 2010 and 2009 Age groups. Players born in 2008 and 2007 will no longer need a recommendation to try-out.
All players wishing to play ODP at this level must be identified and recommended to attend try-outs by the Director of Coaching (DOC) or Technical Director (TD), from their club/league (or Club coach if no DOC). It is highly recommended that you confirm with the appropriate coach a recommendation, prior to completing the registration process. After you register, please forward this link to you Director of Coaching/Technical Director to complete your recommendation. Please make sure you give the correct name and email address of the person recommending your participation in the case we need to contact them. (please make sure you read the exemption portion carefully).

This form is required by every player attending try-outs. This is NOT an ODP Registration form. All players must register online via the link at the top of this page.
All players attending try-Outs must bring this Medical Release and Treatment form in order to participate. You will only need to bring this the first time you attend and check in to get your Try-Out shirts.
There are total of (12) hours of try-outs, (3 different dates, 2- sessions per day, each session is 2 hours long). Attending every try-out session is NOT Mandatory, however if you fail to attend one of the first sessions and then you get ill, injured or have a club team conflict later in the try-out process, you may be eliminating yourself by virtue of not participating earlier on. We highly recommend you attend the first session possible in order to avoid any scheduling conflicts later in the process. (Cal North reserves the right to cancel a try-out, if deemed necessary for the health and safety of the players and staff). There are no
refunds for unattended try-out sessions.
Tryout dates for 2024/2025 will be posted at a later date.
Location: Ripon Soccer Complex
Because ODP Try-Outs require a recommendation, it is highly recommended that you check with your coach or club Director PRIOR to signing up and
confirm that they complete your registration. There is no refund for those who register and fail to gain the required recommendation prior to try-outs. Insure you will be recommended, BEFORE you register. There is No refund after July 10th , with the exception of an injury (that prohibits a player from participating through September 10th). Refunds for injuries will require a medical letter from the treating Physician, and must state that the player is “unable to play soccer” due to the stated injury through September 10th. Please submit this letter to the Cal North office, within 3 working days of the injury to begin the refund process. Refunds for injuries (or any portion of the try-out fee) will not be issued if a player has already participated in a try-out session.
Any player that has been suspected of or being treated for a concussion must follow the Cal North Concussion Protocol Policy set forth by the Cal North BOD via Heads Up. No exceptions. Again, we strongly encourage players to get to the first set of try-outs in order to avoid conflicts, future injury or loss of try-out fees. If you have any questions regarding the refund policy, please contact the Cal North office, prior to registering.
All players need to check-in at the event desk to get their try-out shirt, which will have your try-out number. You only need to do this ONE time, because we EXPECT you to keep this number and use it at all the dates you attend. If you lost your try-out shirt, there is no replacement. Be responsible. After you have received your try-out number, you will proceed to the assigned field location for your age/gender. After your first try out, you will return to the same location assigned for your age/gender and be ready to play at the appropriate times. If field assignments change, you will be notified.
If you know you will be missing one of the Sessions, please fill out the absent for below. This will help us pass on that information to the Head Coaches and can plan on seeing you on another date.
