Junior Cup Festival offers three different levels of play. The Founders’ Division is for ages U9, U10, and U12 Recreational teams competing in a Recreational Playing League. The Association Division is for Competitive teams that competed in a Fall playing League at the Copper, Bronze, or lower Silver level and is for ages U9, U10, U11 and U12. The State Division is for Competitive teams that competed In a Fall playing League at the high Silver, gold, or Premier Level. Teams are considered for placement in brackets until brackets are filled based on their eligibility and by application date.
JR Cup will offer a Recreational and Competitive division.
The event is OPEN to all teams registered and playing in northern California. Teams affiliated with a Cal North member league/club will be accepted. Teams NOT affiliated with Cal North but have US Club, AYSO, or SAYSO player passes are also eligible to participate. If not already registered, Cal North can guide you through the registration process. The team’s playing league requirement can be fulfilled by playing in Cal North, US Club, or other approved playing league.
Approved playing leagues are all leagues affiliated through US Soccer, including but not limited to CCSL, NorCal Premier League, an In House Recreational League, or a Cal North District Playing League.

U9 and U10 teams play 7 v 7 format, U11 and U12 teams play in a 9 v 9 format.
The event is usually held in early December of each year but can take place any time of the year. Dates submitted
will be approved unless a conflict is presented.
It is required that the playing fields be located within a limited access complex no further than thirty (30) minutes
travel time from the appropriate lodging facilities. The site must have convenient access from major highways in
the area and with ample parking spaces for teams, referees, tournament officials, spectators, media and VIP’s.
The Site must have space for a vendor village, hospitality tents, college coaches, referees, and volunteers. These
spaces will also be staffed by volunteers provided by the hosting group during the event. The host organization
must provide an air-conditioned building, pavilion or trailer to serve as the onsite headquarters at each
competition site. Furthermore, the host organization must provide equipment, supplies, etc., at each competition
site and cover all associated costs.
All bids will be accepted on a first come first serve basis. Upon receiving the bids, the California Youth Soccer
Association will meet to review, compare, and score the bids. The California Youth Soccer Association
representative(s), as part of the selection process, will conduct site visits to the qualified venue(s), as needed. Site
visits deemed necessary by the California Youth Soccer Association staff are to be coordinated with the bidding
organization(s) and all direct expenses are to be covered by the bidding organization(s) (e.g. mileage, hotel, per
diem, etc.).
Based on the proposal(s) submitted and site visit(s) conducted, final decisions will be made by the California Youth
Soccer Association State Office.
Once a decision is made, California Youth Soccer Association will advise the Host of their winning bid. The hosts
who are awarded the event are required to enter into a Hosting Agreement/Memorandum of Understanding
outlining the responsibilities of the Host.
This fee will be determined by your district.
