SACRAMENTO, Calif.  (August 8, 2025) - The Cal North Olympic Development Program is excited to announce the dates and locations for each of the three international trips during the 2025-2026 cycle.

During the 2024-2025 cycle, Cal North ODP offered three international trips for the first time, visiting countries where soccer is a religion. These trips gave Cal North ODP players a once-in-a-lifetime experience from a cultural and sport perspective.

For the 2025-2026 cycle, Cal North ODP will be returning to Mexico, Spain and Costa Rica, where we will look to provide yet another unforgettable experience to all teams and families. The dates for the 2026 international trips are listed below:

      Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico
      February 25 - March 3, 2026

Guadalajara, Jalisco is one of Mexico's meccas when it comes to soccer (or fútbol) where this past cycle our teams where able to play against top teams, including Chivas de Guadalajara, Leones Negros U de G and Universidad Panamericana de Guadalajara, to name a few. La Perla Tapatia, will also be a host city for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, making this trip one of the most anticipated experiences for the 2025-2026 Cal North ODP cycle. You can see the video playlist from our 2024-2025 trip below.

      Barcelona, Spain
      March 29 - April 6, 2026

When you think Barcelona, it's impossible to not think of the Pep Guardiola and Lionel Messi era. And while those times are gone, the new era of Lamine Yamal and company is here. This past spring we were able to witness not only the magic of that FC Barcelona team coming from behind versus Celta Vigo in a 4-3 win, but also explore the city itself. Our Cal North ODP teams and families were involved in a variety of activities in Ciutat Catalan to fully take in the rich history of one of the oldest, yet modern cities in all of Europe. Cal North ODP truly explored the region, making Castelldefels our home base while exploring Sitges and Sabadell. The experience brought the opportunity for our Cal North ODP players to be coached by RCD Espanyol de Barcelona Femení Assistant Coach. Check out the Barcelona trip video recap below from our friends over at WorldStrides Sports.

      Costa Rica
      April 8 - 14, 2026

This trip has become a staple within our international experiences and that is all thanks to the great relationships we have build over the years with our friends in Costa Rica. Tiquicia is not just a great destination for tropical weather, but also one that provides a deep connection with nature. From whitewater rafting to zip-lining adventures, to visiting the historical downtown San Jose, touring Estadio Nacional, training and playing at the popular Liga Deportiva Alajuelense facilities, the majestic Estadio Nicolas Macís and spending two nights at the unique Tilajari Rainforest Hotel, this experience is well-rounded and humbling to say the least. We can't forget one of our favorite activities of the trip, and that is sharing a few hours of our day with kids of an underprivileged community in the outskirts of San Jose, Costa Rica. This trip is ¡Pura Vida! See trip videos below.
