NAPA, Calif. (July 19-20, 2025) -Cal North coaching education continues to work with clubs and leagues ahead of the 2025 Fall season.
On July 19th and 20th, Napa United held an in-person grassroots coaching course for over 20 coaches from the Napa region. The course consisted of 7v7 and 9v9 Grassroots coaching material.
“We’re incredibly fortunate to have Jeremy Williams join us in Napa and throughout District 5. His knowledge and passion for the game are unmatched, and opportunities like this are what make Cal North’s coaching education program so special,” said Dane Denkers, Cal North District 5 Administrator.
Throughout the course, coaches explored what it means to build player-centered environments, how to design sessions that reflect the game, and how to connect with players in meaningful ways. Napa provided a perfect setting for open conversations, collaborative learning, and on-field application.
"We brought together a motivated group of local coaches from a variety of clubs organizations and backgrounds — some stepping into their first coaching role, others looking to sharpen their approach and progress through the U.S. Soccer coaching education pathway— all with the shared goal of creating better experiences for young players in our community," said Jeremy Williams, Cal North Technical Director of Coaching Education.
“Jeremy’s visit is a reminder of how lucky we are to be part of Cal North. These kinds of hands-on learning experiences are helping us grow the game in Napa and beyond—one coach, one player, one community at a time,” added Denkers.
A big thank you to Napa United, Jeremy Williams, Dane Denkers and all the coaches who invested their time and energy. We look forward to seeing the impact you make in your teams and clubs.
