Congratulations to Cal North partner Wilson Awards Company for being named official awards, medals and pins supplier for US Youth Soccer

The US Youth Soccer Coaching Department has introduced its latest coaching resources with three age-specific practice activity guides. The three guides — for the U6-U8, U-10 and U-12 age groups — give coaches an idea of what should be covered throughout a season while highlighting activities that focus on development in a low-stress, fun-filled environment.

Under the partnership, Wilson Trophy Company will provide awards and medals for US Youth Soccer programs, including select US Youth Soccer ODP events, the US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup and regional and national championship levels of the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series.

Eighteen girls from the US Youth Soccer ODP program participated in the US Youth Soccer ODP Girls 1996 National Camp April 20-27 at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif.

In Ian’s Boots, Inc. was founded in July 2010 by Holly and Ron Miller to provide shoes — and in many cases, soccer cleats — to people in need. The organization was established in memory of their son, Ian, after his own soccer aspirations were cut short.

The purpose of Cal North’s EDP is to provide participants with exposure to College Coaches, their methods of instruction and technical and tactical advice for player development. We aim provide an environment that will test players decision making capabilities in pressure situations. The college coaches will be on hand to guide the player with tactical solutions. The EDP program is a supplement to the Olympic Development Program.

The US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (US Youth Soccer ODP) is well-represented on each of the league’s eight teams. Of the 116 American players named to opening day rosters, 100 are former US Youth Soccer ODP members.

Pleasanton, CA (March 21, 2013) – The Cal North Board of Directors at their March 2013 meeting, approved the implementation of a mandatory Comprehensive Fingerprint Background Check program as part of their current Risk Management policy. After the annual review of the current Cal North Risk Management policies, the Cal North insurance provider recommended any adults that are rostered on a Cal North sanctioned team be required to take part in the Fingerprint Background Check program.
