Must be certified to perform CPR and operate an AED. Certification can be obtained through accredited organizations offering in-person or online training, consistent with national evidence-based cardiovascular care guidelines.
Certification must be renewed at least every two years.
Youth sports organizations must ensure that all coaches are certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) operation. Additionally, a written cardiac emergency response plan must be in place.
Youth sports organizations must ensure that athletes have access to an AED during any official practice or match. The AED must be properly maintained and tested according to the manufacturer's guidelines and applicable regulations.
