MORGAN HILL, Calif. - Cal North is beyond excited to be hosting the 2023-2024 Cal North State Cup Presented by Stanford Medicine Children's Health for U13-U19 age groups on April 13th & 14th at the Morgan Hill Sports Complex in Morgan Hill, California.
Cal North State Cup is the designated state-level qualifier for the US Youth Soccer Far West Regional Championships and the first step to the US Youth Soccer National Championships Presented by New York Life Insurance. Every Cal North District will be represented, with the exception of District 6. Over 30 teams will be competing in their respective age groups for the Cal North State Cup and their ticket to regionals.
This year will feature several returning teams to the competition, as well as new ones looking to make their mark.
The U15 Girls bracket features Visalia United FC 09G SWSL who competed in Far West Regionals in 2023. We will also have the opportunity to see the talented Pajaro Valley Youth Soccer Club 06/07G ECRL in the U18/19 Girls bracket, a team who has reached the quarterfinal stages in the previous two editions of the Far West Regional Championships in Boise.
In the U14 Boys bracket you have two returning teams in Silicon Valley Eagles 10B PSG and Ceres Earthquakes B10. Ceres qualified to State Cup by winning their District Cup in the fall while the Eagles were finalists in last year's State Cup.
There are two teams that will be chasing the a three-peat. That is the case with the Ajax United 08B Academy in the U16 Boys bracket and Alum Rock Fútbol Club AR - Eclipse (formerly Santa Cruz City SC Sharks 07B Blue) in the U17 Boys bracket. These two teams have won Back-to-Back Cal North State Cups (2021-2022 and 2022-2023 editions).
Also returning Cal North State Cup Champion from 2022-2023 is Pajaro Valley Youth Soccer Club 06B in the U18/19 Boys bracket. A group that features AC Marin, North State Kaos and Contra Costa.
Cal North State Cup Champions in the U13-U19 Boys & Girls age groups will earn the right to represent Northern California this summer at the 2024 Far West Regional Championships that will be taking place at the Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex in Honolulu, Hawai'i from June 21-27, 2024.
Last year, the Ajax United 2010 Boys Green won the 2022-2023 Cal North State Cup and went on to win the 2023 Far West Regional Championships in Boise, Idaho. See their journey below!
