Cal North Soccer Association and Cal North Referee Administration Partner For The Benefit Of The Game in Northern California

SACRAMENTO, CA (October 22, 2021) - We are very pleased to announce a formal partnership between Cal North Referee Administration (CNRA) and Cal North Soccer Association for the upcoming 2021-2022 Cups and Tournaments. This partnership will serve the game in Northern California by providing growth in our referee pool, identifying young referees and using the events as training opportunities for new & existing referees and mentors. As a result, Cal North Cups & Tournaments will benefit from improved officiating for major competitions such as Cal North State Cup, Cal North Presidents Cup and Cal North Association Cup.

“There is a real need for recruiting, developing, and retaining referees in Northern California.  We are excited with the start of this partnership with CNRA and we look forward to working with them to establish a new pool of referees that will supplement what is considered one of the best referee programs in the country,” said Larry Svetich, Cal North Youth Soccer Chairman.

Cal North Founders’ Cup will serve as the first event where feedback, mentorship and technical sessions will be offered to the referees, kickstarting this partnership between Cal North Referee Administration and Cal North Soccer Association.

“We are extremely pleased to partner with Cal North on their cups,“ added Said Ravanfar, State Referee Administrator,CNRA. “This is a wonderful opportunity for us to incorporate different levels of competition into the referee development pathway and create training and learning environments at tournaments throughout the year.”
