SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Cal North Soccer is proud to announce a new collaboration with Hidden Temple Media to follow and document the Cal North ODP international trip that recently took place in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Hidden Temple Media is a full-service content studio and media production company based in Sacramento, California, co-founded in 2017 by Pedro Garcia and Kellen Lor. Hidden Temple Media specializes in documentaries and commercial work by using a blend of creative storytelling and cinema technology to deliver strong and effective messages.

This partnership will provide our Cal North Olympic Development Program teams traveling to Guadalajara the experience of a lifetime to be part of a documentary series that will be captured through the lens of Hidden Temple Media while in Mexico.

"On a recent visit back home to Mexico, I couldn’t help but notice how the media portrayed a narrative that felt emotionally damaging to a country I consider home. Like anywhere in the world, there are real challenges, but perspective matters. Ultimately, we can only truly judge a place by what we experience personally and professionally," said Marley Wilson, Cal North Executive Director. "When most people think of ODP, they see scores and highlights. What they rarely see is the journey that shapes the player and the person off the field. For Cal North’s Olympic Development Program (ODP) players, traveling to Mexico has always been more than a game. It’s an immersion into culture, and heritage in ways the public rarely hears about. That is why we reached out to Pedro and his team to document this experience on such important year for soccer in North America," he added.

Mexico, along with the United States and Canada, is one of three countries hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup this summer with excitement building towards the big event starting in June.

"I’ve wanted to tell stories that live at the intersection of culture, identity, and community, and this project brings all of that together through a world I know intimately. I grew up playing soccer, I was born in Ameca, Jalisco, and my family’s roots in Guadalajara make this story feel deeply personal," said Pedro Garcia, co-founder of Hidden Temple Media. "My mom has also mentioned my grandfather played semi-pro in Jalisco, which makes my connection to the game feel generational."

"As a filmmaker, I’m drawn to stories that reveal something larger beneath the surface, and this documentary offers the chance to explore much more than a training trip. It’s a story about belonging, aspiration, cross-border connection, and the role soccer can play in shaping opportunity and identity for young players on both sides of that relationship. Marley’s perspective made clear that Cal North’s connection to Mexico is layered with heritage, access, and long-term development, which makes this an especially powerful story to tell." Pedro Garcia.
