NORTHERN CALIFORNIA — The road to the 2027 MLS NEXT Cup is taking shape, and teams from Northern California are ready to take the next step.
Cal North is proud to announce the regional qualifier event placements for Northern California clubs competing in the MLS NEXT Academy Division, giving teams the opportunity to compete against top-level competition from across the region as they pursue a place at the 2027 MLS NEXT Cup.
The MLS NEXT Academy Division provides an expanded platform for clubs and players to compete at a high level while creating additional opportunities for player development, talent identification, and exposure to college, professional, and national team scouts.
For Northern California teams, the regional qualifier events represent an important milestone in the 2026–27 season. The Roseville Regional Qualifier will be historic as Cal North will be hosting an MLS NEXT event in partnership with the City of Roseville and Roseville Soccer Club.
The competition will bring together some of the region's top Academy Division teams, with clubs battling for the opportunity to advance through the MLS NEXT Cup pathway. See team club placements and designation for their regional qualifier.

Cal North is the original youth soccer organization in Northern California, who has served generations of players, coaches, leagues, and clubs with storied histories. Cal North is a member of a much larger soccer community, and as a member, you are also a member of this world community. Players register to play with one of the more than 200 clubs or leagues formed by Cal North. Through affiliation, our leagues and clubs are also members of US Youth Soccer, US Soccer, and US Futsal. US Soccer, along with over 197 other national soccer organizations, are members of FIFA, the Federation Internationale de Football Association. FIFA serves as the international governing body for soccer and US Soccer has been a member since 1913. Together, local, national and international organizations form a family of support for the young soccer players of Cal North.
