District 1 is the smallest and most unique district in the California Youth Soccer Association (CYSA) and includes cities in the northern tip of the San Francisco Bay peninsula: San Francisco, Daly City, Colma, Pacifica, San Bruno, South San Francisco, and Brisbane.
Most of District 1 is a dense urban environment where often the biggest challenge is to find a place for practice or play. Nonetheless, our CYSA affiliated leagues offer soccer year round - traditional fall leagues, several rapidly growing spring leagues, and a summer league.
We have four leagues registering players to play on teams at all levels of skill - from recreational to competitive. Most league play in District 1 is recreational, and teams often participate in more than one league during the year. Competitive teams generally travel to play in leagues outside of District 1.
District 1 teams also participate in CYSA statewide competitions such as tournaments, State, Association, and Founders Cup.
For our most aspiring and dedicated players, District 1 offers yearly tryouts in the Olympic Development Program.
Along with player development, District 1 also offers opportunities for coach and referee training with regular clinics and courses.
The District 1 Administration is composed of a wonderful group of dedicated volunteers working together to offer new and better opportunities for youth soccer. Please feel free to contact them through this link.
The Mission Youth Soccer League plays June to August, with competitive (Division 1&3) and recreational (Division 4) brackets.
The San Francisco Vikings Youth Soccer League runs a fall league for recreational players and an Upper House competitive division.
The San Francisco Police Activities League begins play in March and has brackets for recreational teams in a variety of ages.
The South San Francisco United Youth Soccer League has a fall league for recreational players.
