The Cal North Cup Series includes four different Cups that provide challenging match play for all levels of Cal North teams.
Cal North State Cup is offered in the U9 - U19 boys and girls age groups and in the U12 and older age groups is the State-level qualifier for the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series, which is considered the most prestigious youth soccer competition in the United States. Recommended for the top tier competitive teams within a league or club, generally Competitive Division teams competing in Far West Regional League, Premier or Gold level playing leagues and tournaments are the right fit for State Cup. Champions qualify to advance to the Region IV Far West Regionals.
Cal North Presidents Cup is offered for U12 – U18 teams. Gold and Silver Elite teams and/or teams are the most suitable applicants. Presidents Cup competition is one step below the National Championship Series State Cup and is well-suited for Silver Elite and/or Gold teams. Currently U13-U17 champions will qualify for the Region IV Presidents Cup competition. Should Region IV and/or US Youth Soccer include other Presidents Cup age groups in their regional and national events, CYSA Cal North will offer those age groups for advancement opportunities as well.
Cal North Association Cup was established to create a state-level competition for the entry-level Competitive teams. Offering brackets in the U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, U15, U16, and U19 age groups, Association Cup is geared toward providing the cup experience for teams that participate in Copper, Bronze, Silver and Silver Elite competitive level league and tournament competitions. Association Cup is open to Association Cup champions do not advance beyond Cal North Championships.
Cal North Founders’ Cup rounds out the Cal North Cup series and was created specifically to provide the opportunity for cup competition for Recreational Level teams. U10, U12, U14, U16 and U19 brackets are offered and the cup is open to any Recreational team that is approved by their league and district to participate in play outside of their own league.
Cal North Junior Cup Festival is comprised of the three cups offered for U9 through U11s. Teams in U10 Founders’ Cup, U9-U11 Association Cup and U9-U11 State Cup will participate in a fun-filled festival-style event which is open to both CYSA Cal-North member teams as well as to teams from other USSF affiliated organizations. This Cup introduces teams to the concept of Cal North Cups and allows participants to view the different levels of play taking place in a venue that incorporates all three cups simultaneously. The champions of the Cal North divisions in each of the cups will face off against the winners of the divisions for other USSF teams.
