As we approach a new seasonal year (at least the Registration part of it!), CYSA will be rolling out a whole list of changes to the procedures, rules, forms and related materials used in registration. Over the next couple of posts I will delve into each one in more detail, but I thought I would take a moment and do up a quick introduction to the list! This list doesn't comprise all the changes (we are still finalizing some things), but it hits some of the major ones that I know you will be interested in!
Some of the upcoming changes heading for CYSA's registration process:
- New Player Pass Format: The player pass you know and love is changing. Starting with the 2010/11 season we will have all information AND the picture on the front. Nothing will be on the back any longer.
- Elimination of the District Stamp: Yep, just that simple. We will no longer be using a District Registrar stamp on paperwork. With the change in paperwork processing methodology, we found that it was no longer required (see next item).
- Conversion to "Workflow" in LeagueOne: In late March we will be converting the remaining Districts and leagues to the LeagueOne Workflow system. District 9 and parts of District 5 have been using the Workflow method for the past two years as a pilot. This system will drastically change the way Districts process paperwork and will almost completely stop the shuffling of paperwork back and forth between the leagues and the District.
- Transfers (for D4R and above): Transfers are changing too. We are going to a system where the leagues and Districts will do all their approvals online (in the LeagueOne system). You will still need the physical signatures (for now) of the parent and the releasing coach and will need to mail the form and pass to the accepting District Registrar, but the rest will be electronic and vastly streamlined. Also, the accepting league registrar will be able to initiate the process directly in the system.
Those four changes highlight a season of real change for CYSA. I will go into more detail on these points in the coming days and weeks, but that should whet your appetite a little! Also, there are more changes that I will announce here as they are finalized.
